WILLEMSTAD - The tax authorities in Curaçao have 5.5 billion guilders in uncollected assessments in the system. This concerns 2.6 million assessments that have not been paid by a total of 150,000 taxpayers. These figures have been published by the Tax Department.
Curaçao, like the other Caribbean parts of the Kingdom, has a long history of leaving taxpayers who ignore tax assessments untouched. The Tax and Customs Administration announces a major clean-up operation.
