WILLEMSTAD – Edwin Baas, president of the Curaçao Boxing Association (CuraBox), represented Curaçao at the International Boxing Association (IBA) Festival, which took place on December 12 and 13, 2025, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The two-day event brought together key stakeholders from across the global boxing community and featured a packed program that included the Global Boxing Forum, the IBA Ordinary Congress, a professional boxing fight night, and the IBA World Championships for elite men.

Representatives from 126 national boxing federations attended the festival, highlighting the broad international scope of the event. In addition, numerous high-profile figures from the professional and amateur boxing world were present, offering opportunities for dialogue on the future of the sport, governance, athlete development, and international competition.

Baas’ participation underscored Curaçao’s continued engagement in international boxing affairs and provided CuraBox with valuable exposure to global developments within the sport. The meetings and forums also offered opportunities to strengthen networks, exchange best practices, and explore potential collaborations aimed at further developing boxing on the island.

The IBA Festival is considered one of the organization’s most important annual gatherings, combining policy discussions, competitive sport, and high-level decision-making within the international boxing community.
