WILLEMSTAD - 128 Venezuelans were sent back to Caracas on December 1 via charter. The border between Curaçao and Venezuela was briefly opened for this occasion.
Of the 128 passengers, 45 were on Curaçao without valid residence papers. They were locked up in the foreigners’ barracks of the SDKK prison.
Ten Venezuelans did not travel on the charter flight because they applied for asylum. 16 stayed behind because they are infected with Corona. According to the government, 83 Venezuelans have left voluntarily.
Justice plans to use more charters when the barracks are almost full again.
