Curaçao collects 24 million guilders more tax in May

Local | By Correspondent June 16, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao collected 102 million guilders in taxes in May, which is almost 24 million more than budgeted. The reason for this good result is that more money came in due to the property tax. That brought in more than 25 million extra

That is higher than ever and is the result of collecting overdue property tax assessments for the years 2019 to 2022. A large part of the tax revenue in May consisted of sales tax, 44 million. That is 7.5 million more than budgeted. A quarter of the sales tax, 11 million guilders, was collected by Customs.
