WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao court wants to hear Italian attorney general Roberto Pelicano on June 6. This will be done at the request of the lawyers of former Prime Minister Gerrit Schotte and his partner Cicely van der Dijs.
According to the lawyers, the Italian would shed a different light on part of the burden of proof that the Curaçao Public Prosecution Service presented in the case against Schotte and Van der Dijs.
The former prime minister is currently in prison for three years. Pelicano's testimony is unlikely to have any consequences for that punishment, but for possible compensation.
