Curaçao Cyberluck is looking for compliance employees

Local | By Correspondent January 3, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - Cyberluck, one of the master licensees in Curacao that grants licenses through its Curacao eGaming seal, is looking for 250 compliance employees.

The compliance officers must check information in a control database based on data security, responsible gaming and anti-money laundering legislation.

People who want to apply must have completed their secondary education. In addition, they must speak English, Dutch, and Papiamento. Experience with computers, internet and social media is a plus.

Legislation

During the discussion of the 2022 budget at the end of November last year, the Curaçao Minister of Finance Javier Silvania announced that he would send the National Ordinance on Games of Chance to Parliament for approval at the beginning of 2022.

The current licensing system that regulates the gaming industry on the island no longer meets international requirements in terms of supervision and understanding of the global gaming industry. Pressure from the Dutch government to reform gambling policy plays an important role in the minister's announcement. At the end of 2020, a reform of the gambling policy was already made a condition for financial support.

The government's new plans should simplify the licensing system and ensure that the sector makes a significant contribution to the state treasury. Silvania said in his written answers to the questions, among other things, that it is known that "more than 1,000 companies based in Curaçao provide online casino services worldwide through a sublicense model.

The new National Ordinance will be presented to Parliament at the beginning of the second quarter. Cyberluck's appeal to its licensees to complete the CDB, and its search for 250 new compliance employees, is a direct response to this national ordinance.
