Curaçao Expects Record Tourist Influx During the Holiday Season

Local | By Correspondent December 19, 2025

WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao is preparing for an unprecedented surge in tourism during the holiday season, with 26,950 visitors expected to arrive over the next two weeks, according to flight-claim organization EUClaim. The figure marks the highest number of holiday visitors ever recorded for the island.

Between Thursday and the final day of the year, 77 fully booked flights will depart from Amsterdam to Curaçao. While Curaçao is the primary destination, six of these flights will continue on to Aruba and Bonaire, reflecting strong regional travel demand during the festive period.

Significant Increase Over Previous Year

The number of flights represents a notable increase compared to 2024, when 63 flights operated during the Christmas period. This year, an additional 5,000 passengers, spread across 14 extra flights, have chosen to spend the holidays in the Caribbean sun.

According to EUClaim, the surge underscores Curaçao’s growing appeal as a holiday destination, particularly during the winter season.

No Impact From Regional Tensions

Despite heightened geopolitical tensions elsewhere in the Caribbean region, EUClaim reports no disruptions or changes in flight schedules linked to the situation.

“At this moment, we are not seeing any deviations in flights as a result of the tensions,” the organization stated.

The strong booking numbers provide a positive outlook for Curaçao’s tourism sector, which is entering one of its busiest periods of the year and continues to show resilience amid regional and global uncertainty.
