WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA) will launch a special information campaign titled “Countdown to 1 Year of LOK” from 10 to 24 December 2025. The initiative marks the first anniversary of the Landsverordening op de Kansspelen (LOK) and aims to clarify key aspects of the new legislation for the public, operators and international stakeholders.
Each day leading up to 24 December, the CGA will publish a short message on its official social media channels explaining an essential component of the LOK and its implications for Curaçao’s regulatory framework, the gaming industry and consumer protection.
The CGA says the campaign is necessary because, despite the major step Curaçao has taken toward modernizing its gaming regulation, many questions and misunderstandings still circulate both locally and internationally. Through daily updates, the authority hopes to strengthen trust in the LOK, highlight how the legislation protects players and combats money laundering, and underline the economic benefits of a well-regulated sector. The campaign also serves as a moment to celebrate the first year of the LOK together with industry partners and the gaming community.
The daily posts will include infographics, simplified Q&A explanations, milestone highlights from the LOK implementation process and short videos. The CGA encourages the public to follow its official channels so that consumers can better understand how to participate safely in gaming, operators can align more effectively with regulatory requirements and local and international stakeholders can engage in dialogue about developing a safer and more responsible gaming ecosystem for Curaçao.
The Curaçao Gaming Authority calls on the community to support and participate in the “Countdown to 1 Year of LOK” initiative as it continues building a transparent, secure and beneficial gaming sector for the island.
