Local | By Press release October 25, 2023

WILLEMSTAD - From October 25 to 27, 2023, the Curaçao Government, in collaboration with the Private Sector, under the coordination of the Directorate of Communication and Information, is organizing the first conference on communication titled "Communication & Media Summit." The significant event began with the summit's opening on Tuesday, October 25, with over 200 participants in attendance, including the Minister of Economic Development, Ruisandro Cijntje, who officially inaugurated the summit.

Special guest, Angie Eason, who traveled from Texas, USA, delivered an insightful speech about the evolution of communication over time.

The "Communication & Media Summit" is a three-day event aimed at communication, media, and marketing experts, as well as managers, directors, human resources professionals, and entrepreneurs from both the public and private sectors. The primary goal of this summit is to bring together the public and private sectors, fostering genuine interaction between the two sectors to enhance transparency and positively influence management. Additionally, the summit aims to create a platform where participants can explore the dynamic world of communication, marketing, and media, share their knowledge, develop skills, and network with each other.

The goal here aligns with the various efforts that the Curaçao Government has undertaken to expand and improve communication with its citizens and various interest groups, both internally and externally. Additionally, through a public-private partnership with the private sector, it aims to elevate the positions of Communication, Marketing, and Media as professions in our community and thus achieve a greater impact in the professional field. The intention in this case is for the impact to surpass the borders of Curaçao, and for this reason, the summit is directed towards participation from across the entire Kingdom of the Netherlands.

During the summit, professional speakers and trainers (both local and international) provide a variety of training and educational sessions on topics such as strategic communication, crisis communication, digital transformation, the use of artificial intelligence in communication, brand archetype, storytelling, effective writing, and communication in the tourism sector. There are also plenary sessions and group collaborations, with ample opportunities for networking and socializing with each other.

The "Communication & Media Summit" would not have been possible without the support and collaboration of the following local companies and organizations: Reshapers, Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB), ENNIA, Bureau of Telecommunication & Post, and TUI. The Curaçao Government is committed to continuing to provide similar events for the benefit of the Curaçao community and within the framework of relationships within the Kingdom.
