WILLEMSTAD – During the Council of Ministers meeting of Wednesday, December 10, the Curaçao government approved an important framework agreement with St. Eustatius aimed at improving opportunities for young adults. The decision was formally announced on Friday, December 12.

According to the Ministry of Social Development, Labor and Welfare (SOAW), the agreement establishes a collaborative structure in which Curaçao and St. Eustatius will jointly develop, implement and monitor specialized learning and training pathways for young adults. These programs are intended to strengthen skills, improve employability and create new perspectives for youth in both territories.

The Council of Ministers has authorized the Minister of SOAW to sign the framework agreement on behalf of Curaçao.

The government describes the initiative as a strategic step to deepen inter-island cooperation within the Kingdom and to support vulnerable young adults in their transition to the labor market. Additional details on implementation timelines and program content are expected in the coming weeks.
