WILLEMSTAD - According to Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath, the government of Curaçao never said that it is against the establishment of a Dutch body that will control the Dutch funds.
Curaçao does want the structure of the independent administrative body to change. Rhuggenaath said this during a press conference yesterday. Curaçao wants to know what exactly the Netherlands is planning.
At the same time, Curaçao wants more influence in the body that will invest millions in Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten in the coming years. The Curaçao government has sent a letter to The Hague in which it states that it is happy with the announced support, but at the same time asks for more clarity.
