WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao is easing the corona measures even further. Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas announced this during the press conference on Thursday.

The curfew will be lifted completely from Friday. Pisas does emphasize that people's own responsibility remains very important and that this will not mean a 'free for all'. According to Pisas, everyone must adhere to the policy propagated by the government.

It will also be allowed to organize events from Friday. Indoor gatherings are allowed with a maximum number of 200 people, outdoor activities are allowed with a maximum of 400 people.

Travelers within the BES and CAS islands no longer have to test to travel back and forth. Until now they had to do a PCR and antigen test on the third day after arrival.

Furthermore, Pisas announced that boats may again admit full capacity to passengers. In addition, the use of a facemasks is only mandatory in indoor areas. This also applies to indoor spaces in schools.

If it turns out that the number of infections increases again, measures will apply again. "We must continue to behave, the pandemic is not over yet," Pisas said.

The next steps will be reviewed on March 12.
