THE HAGUE, WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao can now be part of the Status of Forces Agreement, or the SOFA treaty. The Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament has agreed to this. The treaty regulates the entry of American soldiers into the countries of the Kingdom for the purpose of training.
In 2013 the then government decided not to participate, but that is now different.
The Socialist party had its doubts first because it was afraid that the presence of American soldiers on Curaçao was meant to invade Venezuela.
