WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) has resumed elective care as of today. Last Wednesday, the Minister of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN) Dorothy Pietersz-Janga instructed the Social Insurance Bank (SVB) to make an advance payment to the CMC.
The hospital has received an advance of 4.1 million guilders. This week 47 patients have been scheduled, 33 of which are SVB patients. The planning department works closely with the specialists to go through the waiting list and prioritize those who need more immediate care.
For the month of November, it has been calculated that approximately three hundred surgeries will take place. This includes 240 SVB patients. There are a total of 1,646 patients on the waiting list.
