WILLEMSTAD - A 50-year-old Curaçaoan was arrested in London on suspicion of membership of the criminal gang No Limit Soldiers (NLS). This was done at the request of the Public Prosecution Service (OM) in Curaçao.
The OM says that the man was arrested on Friday, the news was announced on Monday. The man is now the eighth No Limit Soldiers suspect who has been arrested. He lived in London for a long time and runs a business there.
The prominent NLS member is held responsible for several murders. He would not have committed the murders himself, but would have ordered them. It concerns various murders and violent incidents within the Kingdom, including on Sint Maarten, and beyond.
The man was arrested in the Themis investigation, which focuses on NLS. Especially for this arrest, a team of detectives has been composed of Sint Maarten, Curaçao Aruba and the Criminal Investigation Cooperation Team (RST).
Last year, NLS leader Shurandy "Tyson" Quant was arrested in Dubai.
