WILLEMSTAD - According to Minister of Economic Development Steven Martina, 30,000 new jobs must be created in Curaçao.
This allows the island to increase its self-reliance. Half of those jobs have been lost due to the corona crisis, according to Martina. By creating new jobs, unemployment in Curaçao can be counteracted, according to the minister.
He is mainly thinking of new jobs in tourism. In addition, Martina would like the Netherlands to make it fiscally more attractive for Dutch companies to invest in Curaçao. He calls that "the most effective way to help Curaçao".
