Local | By Correspondent October 15, 2021

WILLEMSTAD, KRALENDIJK - Bonaire is considered a very high-risk area by Curaçao from Monday. The government released the updated country classification list on Friday.

Previously, Bonaire was only on the list as a risk area. The island is now placed under a very high-risk area. For travelers from Bonaire this means that they are required to have a PCR test before departure and an antigen test three days after arrival.

The number of active corona infections on Bonaire currently stands at 131. At the beginning of this week, the island scored the worst of all Dutch islands in the Caribbean in terms of daily infections. Bonaire contrasts with the other islands, where the number of infections is actually decreasing.
