Local | By Correspondent December 30, 2025

WILLEMSTAD — The schedule for Curaçao’s naturalization exams in 2026 has been officially published. According to the announcement, the examination will consist of three components and will be conducted entirely in digital format.

The naturalization exam includes a test on knowledge of Curaçao’s political organization and society, as well as two language tests: one in Papiamentu and one in Dutch. Both language exams assess reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills.

Registration process

Registration for the exam will take place through the online portal of the Expertisecentrum voor Toetsen en Examens (ETE). On February 2, 2026, a separate announcement will be published on government websites and the ETE platform, providing detailed instructions on the registration procedure.

Candidates will be able to register on February 19 and 20. By the end of March, applicants will be informed whether they qualify to participate and what fee must be paid.

Exam dates and certification

The naturalization exams are scheduled to take place between early August and late September 2026. Results will be announced on October 27, 2026. The official certificate award ceremony is planned for November 25, 2026.

The publication of the schedule is intended to give prospective candidates sufficient time to prepare for the exams, which form a key requirement in the naturalization process in Curaçao.
