WILLEMSTAD -There are more and more young patients in the hospital. This was announced this morning by Epidemiologist Dr. Izzy Gerstenbluth in the press conference.
There are 28 people in Intensive Care, including several people from Bonaire.
The Curacao Medical Center stated in a letter this weekend that it had made the ICU department completely a COVID unit and has postponed non-urgent operations for the time being. Dr. Gerstenbluth says most people are currently getting infected with the British variant. “We really have to stick to the rules. This variant spreads much faster. It has never been as serious as it is now on Curaçao.”
