WILLEMSTAD - Dean Gorré will be the new technical director of Curaçao. The former national coach of Suriname will start immediately.
Officially, Gorré will hold the position of technical and development director. A new role at the football association of Curaçao, where the former player of Feyenoord and Ajax will focus on the youth.
The Curaçao football association already presented Remko Bicentini as the new national coach last Friday. He is the successor of Art Langeler, who left together with Hiddink.
Gorré will immediately focus on technical policy, local football and the further development of the under 9 to under 23 of the national youth selections.
Curaçao held talks with several candidates in the past period, but became convinced of Gorré. "This is the ideal picture for us," said Ramiro Griffith, chairman of the Curaçao football association FFK.
‘There is a lot of talent on the island and in the Netherlands with Curaçao roots. The youth is the future and with a good policy and structure we should be able to create a platform for young players to realize their football dream.
With the appointment of Dean Gorré, we are taking an important step in the right direction.”
Bicentini, former player of NEC, succeeded Patrick Kluivert in 2016 as national coach of Curaçao. Before that, he had been assistant national coach twice. With Curaçao, he won the 2017 Caribbean Cup and qualified for the 2017, 2019 and 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
