WILLEMSTAD – Muryad de Bruin, managing director of the Curaçao Tourist Board, presented a new target of 846,000 stayover arrivals for 2026 during a government press conference held recently.

The proposed target represents a growth of 7 percent compared to the 788,427 stayover arrivals recorded in 2025. That figure already exceeded the original 2025 target of 765,000 visitors by a wide margin.

According to figures presented at the press conference, Curaçao welcomed 788,427 stayover tourists in 2025, marking a 13 percent increase compared to the 700,242 stayover arrivals registered in 2024. De Bruin stated that this sustained upward trend in tourism performance forms the basis for the more ambitious outlook for 2026.

Tourism statistics for 2025 also show that visitors are spreading across a wide range of locations on the island. Areas frequented by tourists include Scharloo at 12 percent, Santa Barbara at 14 percent, Sint Willibrordus at 22 percent, Pietermaai and Piscadera both at 34 percent, Jan Thiel and Caracasbaai at 51 percent, the western part of the island at 58 percent, Mambo Beach Boulevard and Otrobanda each at 65 percent, the Queen Emma Bridge area at 68 percent, UNESCO World Heritage Willemstad at 77 percent, and Punda at 81 percent.

De Bruin emphasized that the broad geographic distribution of visitors underscores the positive impact of tourism across Curaçao and supports the continued strategy of balanced and sustainable growth for the sector.
