WILLEMSTAD - The corona situation in Curaçao is rapidly deteriorating. The only hospital is so full that it can no longer receive corona patients and statistics from the New York Times show that the island is a global leader in new corona cases; per day 177 per 100,000 inhabitants.
The authorities call the situation very alarming. The former hospital in Willemstad, which has been closed for some time, is now open to non-covid patients. The Netherlands has been asked for additional healthcare personnel.
This curfew on the island starts two hours earlier, at 7:00 PM. Essential stores must close earlier.
