WILLEMSTAD — Curaçaoan boxer Dethen Rosaria has qualified for the semifinals of the Open South Netherlands Championships (OZNK), organized by the Dutch Boxing Association (NBB).
Rosaria, who lives in the Netherlands and trains with Fitboyz010, secured his place in the semifinals after two convincing victories last weekend. On Saturday, January 17, he defeated Damiaan van Noort of Bredase Ring in the round of 16 in Breda. The following day, Sunday, January 18, Rosaria continued his strong run by winning his quarterfinal bout in Eindhoven against Louis van Eck of RBV Crooswijk.
With those wins, Rosaria advanced to the semifinals of the 75 to 80 kilogram weight class. The semifinal bout is scheduled for Saturday, January 24, in Sittard, where he will face Osiris Polenghi Lopez of Boksschool Barry Groenteman.
Rosaria’s performance at the OZNK highlights the continued presence of Curaçaoan talent in international boxing competitions and marks another step forward in his competitive career in the Netherlands.
