ROTTERDAM - The man who died in a fire in a house in Rotterdam IJsselmonde is a Curaçaoan. On the night of 12 to 13 January, a fire broke out around midnight. The fire brigade rushed to find a seriously injured man. Assistance was no longer of any use, the 62-year-old man died on the spot.
Given the man's injuries, suspicion of a crime arose and the police immediately started an investigation. This led to a 27-year-old suspect, the son of the killed man.
After the police suspected a crime, the house was classified as a crime scene and the investigation started. This man was soon arrested.
The police are further investigating the circumstances.
