Local | By Correspondent September 2, 2021

ORANJESTAD - The curfew in Aruba will be lifted as of Thursday evening. The crisis team announced a number of relaxation of the corona measures during a press conference on Tuesday.

On Sunday, August 22, the island took extra corona measures to relieve the pressure on care in the Horacio Oduber Hospital (HOH). In the month of August 46 people died from the consequences of the corona virus.

The situation in the hospital is under control, but still critical, stressed outgoing Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes. Nevertheless, the trend is moving in the right direction, according to Wever-Croes. According to the prime minister, about 1,000 people a week are being vaccinated against the virus.
