WILLEMSTAD - Customs employees will soon be paid their overtime and meal allowances for the first months of this year. This was announced by the Minister of Finance Javier Silvania who said he has approved the payment.
In recent days there has been unrest among customs officials. Via a Facebook message, the minister announces that he has placed the necessary signatures and that the document has been submitted to the Ministry of Management, Planning and Services. This concerns 131 requests from employees. Silvania asks them to understand the delay.
Next week a meeting with the customs union STRaF is on the agenda. During the meeting, personnel matters and the progress of personnel files are discussed.
At the moment 38 files of employees are being processed in connection with, among other things, benefits and allowances. Since mid-March, two special task groups have been active that deal with the handling of outstanding personnel files.
