WILLEMSTAD - Customs strongly suspect that one or more people have been smuggled in a container. Yesterday, during an inspection, the customs officers found a sleeping bag, food and human waste.
Also, the control lock has been manipulated. The seal was intact. The container departed from the Netherlands with Curaçao as its final destination. First, a stopover was made in Latin America. The container stayed there for three weeks in the port. The police are investigating the matter. It regularly happens that people who are smuggled in containers do not make it out alive.
