WILLEMSTAD - The Dutch political party D66 had to surrender some seats after the results of the election for the European Parliament in the Netherlands was announced. But in Curaçao and Bonaire the party came out as the winner.
Of the more than 1,500 votes cast on Bonaire, D66 received 1,000. 850 more than the PvdA. The huge difference is due to Curaçao’s Samira Rafaela, third on the list of candidates of D66.
She personally campaigned on the islands. In Curaçao, D66 won nearly a third of all votes.
