WILLEMSTAD - The Daily Meal Program has suddenly returned to phase 1. As a result of the increasing number of corona patients, Curaçao was forced to go into a lockdown again. From one day to the next, the demand for help for the daily feeding program changed.
People with the lowest incomes or without a permanent job are the ones who immediately fall victim to this situation again. Those are the people who are without food, the organization says.
They would like to help, but they do not currently have the financial means to do so. In a call, they say they need donations NOW to get back on track and help those who are hungry!
Phases
During the acute emergency of the Corona Crisis, the Daily Meal Program has managed to prepare and deliver more than 18,000 hot meals.
With the ingredients of initiator DeliNova and the help of Restaurant BijBlauw, Avila Beach Hotel and the Baoase Resort, the Daily Meal Program says it has succeeded in providing the most vulnerable residents of Curaçao with a healthy and nutritious meal every day.
In the following phases it was about self-reliance and growing your own vegetables. Due to the lockdown, the organization will restart phase 1.
