WILLEMSTAD - Opposition party MAN, also on behalf of PAR and KEM, has requested an emergency debate from in parliament on health care.
On July 30, the Council of Ministers announced its intention to reduce health care costs. The MAN faction is concerned about the negative effects this will have on the quality of care in Curaçao and more directly for the people who need care. Cutbacks are necessary, MAN acknowledges in the announcement of the debate request.
And the government must also ensure that healthcare functions as efficiently as possible, while maintaining quality. The announced measures cut healthcare without taking people into account, the opposition party believes.
