WILLEMSTAD - The Delta variant of the coronavirus is currently the most common variant in Curaçao. This is apparent from the results of batches from 3 to 4 weeks ago that were sent to the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM).
These samples show that approximately 85% of the people tested have been infected with the Delta variant. One infection with the Beta variant was also found, previously known as the South African variant. In addition, there are some infections with the British Alfa variant and the Gamma variant from Brazil.
