WILLEMSTAD - Shaidrilon "Lon" Mutueel must remain in custody for another eight days, on suspicion of sedition and arson. The examining magistrate decided this afternoon.
He is believed to be the instigator of the Wednesday June 24 riots.
According to his counsel, Athena Sulvaran, the file contains false statements from the police. For example, it was said that Mutueel was the one who would have forced the entrance gate of Fort Amsterdam and despite the fact that no evidence could be provided on the part of the authorities, it was decided that Mutueel will remain behind bars pending the investigation.
