WILLEMSTAD - On Tuesday, the Dia di Lucha pa Libertat (fight for liberty) is commemorated in Curaçao. The commemoration will be held at the Tula Monument as every year.
On August 17, 1975, a major slave revolt took place. Tula led one of the most important revolts in the history of Curaçao at Landhuis Knip (plantation house).
Due to the current corona measures, there is a maximum number for people who can attend the commemoration. The ceremony starts at 7 pm and can be followed on various local TV channels and on social media.
