WILLEMSTAD - From November 10th to the 12th, a major international financial conference, ‘CPA Foresight - Crystal Blue Conference’, is scheduled on Curaçao to provide insight and guidance on the future of the accounting profession and the entire business community in the post-pandemic world. Technology, innovation, digitization, and cyber security as well as sustainability, diversity and leadership will be central themes for the event.
Organized jointly by GIM.cpa and the AICPA (the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants), the conference will be held at the Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort and will also offer the opportunity for the participants to attend virtually. "It is expected that between 100 and 200 participants will attend in Curaçao, mostly from the USA, with of course a strong local and regional interest," says Rocher Cyrus CPA, CGMA of GIM.cpa. “The speakers are all highly respected, distinguished leaders in their respective fields offering guidance from years of experience and knowledge, thus making this conference a unique opportunity for exchanging thoughts, views and contacts".

Tom has been recognized for years by Accounting Today Magazine as the second most influential person in accounting, a member of the Accounting Hall of Fame by CPA Practice Advisor, and a member of the Forbes Finance Council. Tom will discuss what it means to live and work in a post-pandemic world as accountants and business executives who must help businesses survive and thrive in these extraordinary times. Discussion topics will identify the critical skills needed to increase relevance in a rapidly changing business world and explore the mindset, skillset, and toolsets to successfully lead.
Dr. Sean Stein Smith, DBA, CPA, a well-known authority on crypto accounting, is the founder of the Institute for Blockchain & Crypto Asset Research, part of the Advisory Board of the Wall Street Blockchain Alliance, a strategic advisor to The Central Bank Digital Currency Think Tank and regularly writes articles about blockchain and crypto for Forbes.com. His sessions will discuss recent accounting, tax and policy developments related to blockchain and crypto assets, plus a breakdown of the proposed accounting guidelines illustrative statements regarding crypto tax issues and an analysis of how upcoming and existing legislation could affect the crypto asset sector in the future.
