Dispute in the Financial Supervision Committee

Local | By Correspondent April 8, 2020

WILLEMSTAD - The Caribbean members of the Financial Supervision Committee (CFT) disagree strongly with the advice of their chairman Raymond Gradus about the Dutch aid to their islands. Aid requested by each government to tackle the corona crisis.

These members reproach the chairman for not taking into account their input in the advice and for submitting the advice to the Kingdom Council of Ministers on his own.

According to the Caribbean members, the advice of the Cft pushes the islands of Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten "only further into the abyss." Today the Dutch government is consulting with all prime ministers in the Kingdom about the help of the Netherlands.
