WILLEMSTAD – Representatives of Down Town Management (DMO) paid a visit to the Governor of Curaçao, Mauritsz de Kort, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, to discuss plans for the further development and livability of the Punda district.
The delegation was led by DMO chair Michelle Metsch and included secretary Thijs de Bruin, board member and Property Owners Chair Jeanette Bonet, board member Willem Jonckheer, and board member Marco Cheis.
During the meeting, DMO presented its development plans for Punda and discussed initiatives aimed at strengthening the business climate and improving overall livability in Willemstad. The discussions focused on balancing economic activity, urban development and quality of life in the historic city center.
According to DMO, the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views with the Governor on current challenges and future opportunities for Punda, which remains a key commercial and cultural hub within Willemstad.
