WILLEMSTAD - The problem surrounding dogs is getting completely out of hand. The dogs cause damage and no one can be held responsible. There are currently about 10 thousand stray dogs.
In the last few days, several dogs have been hit by cars, causing considerable damage. This type of damage is often not covered by insurance.
But the problem is much bigger than material damage alone. The number of stray dogs increases daily, partly because people who no longer want their dogs roughly dump them as old garbage; by the side of the road.
It is clear that the situation can no longer go on like this and that a good solution must be found as soon as possible.
