WILLEMSTAD - The man who drowned yesterday at Playa Canoa is Elfrid Henry Roach, 62, born in Curaçao.
Witnesses had just seen Elfrid on a rock and a moment later he was lying in the rough sea. At that time there was a code orange, a warning not to swim.
Swimmers managed to get the man out of the water with great difficulty.
Ambulance staff tried to resuscitate the man afterwards, but that did not help.
