THE HAGUE - The coalition agreement confirms that the Netherlands considers itself responsible for the protection of the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. As part of this responsibility, the Dutch government will maintain a credible military presence in the Caribbean region.
According to the agreement, this military presence is intended to safeguard Kingdom interests, contribute to regional stability and respond to security challenges, including organized crime and transnational threats.
