AMSTERDAM - The Dutch consumer in Europe likes to go to the Scandinavian countries, but outside Europe they mainly book to Curaçao, Bonaire and Cape Verde. This is reported by Travelpro.nl.
The number of bookings made in June is seven percent above the figures for 2019. Almost all destinations booked more customers than in 2019, with destinations that are closer and accessible by car generally doing better.
Bookings to North America, Asia and Australia/New Zealand are still below 2019 levels.
Travelpro compares the 2022 figures with the 2019 figures because the 2020 and 2021 figures are not a good benchmark during the corona pandemic. The sample is taken monthly among 40,000 to 50,000 consumers in the Netherlands.
