THE HAGUE – Dutch Defense authorities have confirmed that military units are on standby to assist the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom if required, but stress that no immediate escalation is expected.
Existing naval and military assets in the region remain in place, and additional logistical support could be deployed within short notice if circumstances change. Officials say preparations over the past months—including crisis simulations involving more than 80 experts—have strengthened readiness for scenarios such as migration flows or supply disruptions.
At present, however, the security assessment remains stable.
