Dutch Health council: 'Pfizer also for Curaçao adolescents'

Local | By Correspondent June 29, 2021

THE HAGUE, WILLEMSTAD - The Dutch Health Council says that the advice in which Pfizer may be administered to twelve to seventeen-year-olds also applies to the CAS (Curaçao, Aruba and St. Maarten) islands. That is what the Committee on Medical Aspects of Covid-19 says today.

The advice states that the symptoms of the coronavirus are usually mild in young people, but that in rare cases it can lead to the inflammatory reaction MIS-C, which also includes hospital or ICU admission. There is also a risk for them of long-term complaints, also known as lung covid. It is not yet known when and whether young people under the age of eighteen can register in Curaçao for a Pfizer vaccination.
