THE HAGUE - The Dutch Senate Committee for Kingdom Relations is of the opinion that Undersecretary Raymond Knops of Kingdom Relations should provide further explanation about his bill for the settlement of disputes between the countries of the Kingdom.
The committee, therefore, decided today to hold a second round of written questions. The Senate wants to discuss the bill in plenary and put it to a vote in the near future, but when that will depend in part on the speed with which the undersecretary answers the new questions.
The committee also wants to consider the possible wish of the Parliament of Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten to send special delegates to the debate and to offer the ministers plenipotentiary the opportunity to provide so-called information during the hearing. Last week, Knops answered the questions that the Senate asked about the bill in February 2020.
