Eduard Braam on appeal

Local | By Correspondent March 23, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - Member of Parliament for MFK Eduard Braam has appealed the judge’s ruling in his case. The coalition MP and former candidate-minister is challenging the ruling that prevents him from being appointed as a member of the government. 22 years ago, he was convicted of fornication with a patient. According to Braam, he was not sentenced at that time.

However, the judge finds that it is not suitable, in accordance with the screening law, for Braam to become a minister. That is the reason why Braam has now submitted a deed of appeal to the court. He must submit his claim on appeal within six weeks.

The Member of Parliament wants to clear his name. The conviction of more than twenty years ago continues to haunt him. According to Braam, this must come to an end.
