Local | By Correspondent December 8, 2025

WILLEMSTAD – Antillean Adventist Hospital has announced that Elaine Striebeek will assume the role of Director General as of January 1, 2026. Striebeek brings experience from both the private and public sectors and has been part of Antillean Adventist Hospital for many years.

Over the course of her career at the hospital, Striebeek has held several positions, gaining in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the institution, including its operations, staff, and the needs of its patients. After years of dedicated service, she is now ready to take on this new leadership role.

As Director General, Striebeek will continue working closely with her team to provide the highest possible level of care to patients and to further advance the hospital. Antillean Adventist Hospital is currently facing a range of challenges as demand for healthcare services continues to grow.

Upon accepting her new position, Striebeek emphasized her commitment to the hospital’s staff. “Our employees are the heart of this institution,” she said. “My focus will be on three main priorities: ensuring financial stability so we have the resources to sustain and develop our services; strengthening recruitment and retention to build and maintain a team that can meet today’s and future demands; and modernizing equipment and infrastructure to give our staff the tools and facilities they need to deliver the best possible care.”

Striebeek also expressed her gratitude to outgoing CEO Cenaida Panneflek, who led the hospital for the past 15 years and laid a strong foundation for the institution as it stands today.

“Our mission remains unwavering: to provide exceptional care that restores body, mind, and spirit, and to serve our community with compassion and excellence,” Striebeek stated. “That is what makes Advent Hospital a trusted place of health and hope in Curaçao, and together we will continue to build on that mission.”

The appointment marks a new and promising chapter for Antillean Adventist Hospital. As the hospital continues to grow and serve the people of Curaçao, the Board of Commissioners has expressed full confidence in Striebeek’s leadership and vision for the future.
