WILLEMSTAD - The virtual information meeting of the Electoral Council for the upcoming March 19 elections has been postponed by one week. The meeting was scheduled for yesterday and is intended for all parties who want to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The reason for the postponement, according to the Electoral Council, is because technicians could not complete the organization on time. The virtual meeting is now scheduled for December 29. A record number of more than 25 parties have indicated their willingness to participate in the elections.
All parties that are not currently represented in parliament must only participate in the primaries in January. In order to finally be able to participate on March 19, there is a threshold of almost 800 votes.
