WILLEMSTAD - At the request of several politicians and citizens, the Electoral Council has taken out the ballots from a number of polling stations to demonstrate that no irregularities have taken place.
When the final election results were announced, various protests were made, including that of lawyer Achim Henriquez on behalf of Raichel Sint Jacoba of the political party Un Kambio pa Korsou. They question the election results because black and white ballots are said to have been identified.
According to the chairman of the Electoral Council, Raymond 'Pecheco' Römer, this is not the case. All the presidents of the polling stations have confirmed that no black and white ballots have been found.
After many protests, the Electoral Council proceeded to show ballots from a number of polling stations. They wanted to show that there were no black and white ballots among them. Indeed, they were not found.
