WILLEMSTAD – Utility company Aqualectra reports that electricity cables have been stolen twice in the Rooi Santu neighborhood in recent days. Hundreds of homes were left without power as a result.
The utility company regrets the situation and says that this not only harms the residents but that the perpetrators are also endangering their own lives. Aqualectra says that this form of crime has not occurred in Curaçao for a long time. Both thefts took place early in the morning. The incidents have been reported to the police.
Aqualectra pays special attention to the theft of electricity cables and asks for the help of the community in reporting anything they might about the incidents. Anyone who has photos or videos of the theft is asked to send them in.
