WILLEMSTAD – Eleven new police officers were officially sworn in yesterday at the Curaçao Police Force, during a ceremony attended by Minister of Justice Shalten Hato.

The ceremony began at the Governor’s Palace, where the new officers assembled before marching in formation through Punda toward the Ministry of Justice. The official swearing-in took place at the ministry’s parking area, marking the formal start of their careers as full-fledged police officers.

The newly appointed officers began their careers within the police organization at the intake department, where reports and notifications from the public are received and processed. After gaining initial experience, they were given the opportunity to enroll in the police academy. All eleven successfully completed the required training.

Addressing the officers, Minister Hato emphasized the importance of integrity in their work. He urged them to remain mindful of their responsibility to the community and to uphold ethical standards at all times, noting that public trust in the police is closely linked to the conduct and professionalism of individual officers.

The addition of the new officers strengthens the operational capacity of the Korps Politie Curaçao as it continues to focus on public safety and effective law enforcement across the island.
