WILLEMSTAD - Business owners who want to make use of the NOW scheme before May are obliged to make a contribution of 20 percent, calculated on the gross wages. This was reported by the chairman of the Emergency Fund Covid-19 Curaçao Daisy Tyrol-Carolus.
The employee contribution depends on the loss of turnover. If that's 100 percent, employees must contribute 20 percent, and at 50 percent, the employee contribution is 10 percent. In April, the 80/20 rule still applied, in which the charges were borne by the employer.
